What is the Gratitude Bowls project? 2

Fall-Harvest-Spinach-Salad-SmallThe Gratitude Bowls project is partnering with restaurants to provide free, nourishing meals to people in need.

The Gratitude Bowls project started off as a 100 bowl pilot program beginning in April 2014 in Nevada County, California. To date, over 5000 Gratitude Bowls meals have been served to the hungry in our community.

Now serving Gratitude Bowls in Grass Valley, Nevada City and North San Juan!

Cooks use ingredients they have in abundance to create the gratitude bowls meals. Depending on seating availability and individual restaurant policies, gratitude bowls may be served to-go or with restaurant seating included. The Gratitude Bowls project pays restaurants for each bowl served so their businesses prosper as well.

We invite everyone to help with the creation by donating at the eateries or online and sharing our videos and webpage.

We hope to create a program that can both end hunger in our community today and serve as a model worldwide to lead towards the end of world hunger and a larger sense of family for all.

Gratitude Bowls is a project of OurHorses, with support from Sierra Roots.

OurHorses is a group whose mission is to create sanctuary for horses and humans and to provide free meals to humans as a way to uplift humanity and all beings.  Sierra Roots  is dedicated to improving the quality of life in the local community in Nevada City, California by directly helping the homeless through offering meals and other supportive services.Gratitude bowls stick people nw
